I am not new to fish but new to chiclids. My dad had a full grown oscar back in the day but there has been some new inventions since then. I had my 4 little fish cramped up in a 10 gallon tank before i upgraded to a 55 gallon tank my dad used for goldfish. We have a pond but one year they all died from the cold weather in Vermont.(we put them in a tank for the winter. So now i have my Black tiger oscar, White tiger oscar, and 2 jack demseys. I am afraid that when all these fish grow to adult hood sixe that they will be cramped in the tank and will not have enough teretory per fish. I was also hoping to get a feeder fish to clean up a little bit of the HUGE mess these fish make.
THANK YOU!

u defnitly need a bigger tank one oscar needs at least 55gallons and the dempsey's will grow just as big as the oscars,as for the feeder fish these will be consumed by the oscars in a couple of minutes

2 oscars and 2 jacks in a 55 gallon tank is overstock for sure. oscar grow to 14 inches and jacks have been know to reach the 10+ mark in captivity. for all these fish you should look for something in the 125 gallon range to comfortably house them.

as for feeders to help clean the tank, goldfish can grow fairly large and are messy fish. you should look for maybe a mid size pleco, or maybe an eartheater to help in removing excess food
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

clown loach are good at picking up small left offs. But these can also grow(slowly) to 12" but more likely to reach 8" and look a lot nicer than goldfish or plecs. But it all comes down to your own personal tast.
