there are many vids on youtube showing people feeding little live mice to there oscars.
i want to know

what you guys think of this?

is it bad or healthy for oscar?

to find the vids just put oscar pinky into youtube and there will be loads

Pinkies are meant to be for snakes and other creatures that prey on small mammals. I would strongly advise anyone not to feed this type of food to Oscar. If you continue to, your Oscar could start building saturated fats in its liver which is not good, it is thought that fish don't process animal fats very well and it can actually lead to liver damage.

Oscars are not designed to eat the sort of fats in mammal, they are designed to eat insects and some tropical fish.

If you feed animal fats to oscars, the fats end up in the liver which eventually stops working and the oscar dies.

It was somethhing definately id consider because i thought it would be a nice treat.

I wasnt too concerned about the ethical issues to be honest, because i mean other animals do it too.

Are there any live animals whcih are ok to feeD?: you guys mentioned insects before..

Not the cheapest treat though.

I feed her on meal worms and small feeder fish such as tiny goldfish, or mainly danios and such!

I also feed her on earthworms and when I can be bothered, small crabs from the beach! She loves those!
