Hi all. I have been a member for a while but couldnt remember my username.

Sad news tonight. My O's started fighting again yesterday. They brawled for about an hour. I observed them during the night and the smaller, less aggressive Rocky retreated into hiding and Tiger left him alone.

Well I observed them again today and they seemed calm and where swimming around together, so I thought it was over. Then I came home from work and Tiger was giving Rocky a serious beating. Rocky was in terrible shape. I immedietly seperated them with a piece of plastic cut to size which I divided the tank with.

Unfortunatly it was too late. Rocky died a few hours later

He was about 8 months old and 6.5 inches.

Very sorry to hear about your Oscar. I don't think it's very common for Oscars kill each other, however they do have an aggressive side.

Hopefully it won't happen again. If you do buy another Oscar, maybe you can get it on sale or return. At least you know you will not have to go through the same thing again if things start getting nasty again

Thankyou. To tell you the truth buddy I dont think he will ever be able to live with anything, I wouldnt bother even trying to put another fish in there with him his to aggressive. He will just live on his own from now on.
