If you want them both to live then seperate them. Give away/sell one.

I had issues with mine but they had been fine for a year and a half until they decided that they hated each other. One dominated the other for months ....one had to hide in a pipe every day and couldn't get food etc.....I gave the aggresive one to a good home and have just kept one Oscar....he is great now and seems very happy.

you could try puting a divider in the tank. leave it in for about a week and then remove it and watch to see what develops. if the fighting continues you may have to rehome one of your oscar or get another tank .
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

Well jdforever, a similar issue happened when my two young Tiger Oscars met for the first time.

Be careful, this might be the beginning of... a lifetime couple relationship! Mine just became parents! at unexpectedly young age (9-10 months). I'm not kidding, one of them was probably testing dominance over the other. In my case, they challenged each other but without any serious injuries, just some minor bruises.

I guess we might misinterpret the real meaning of this observed aggressive-like behaviour; however, in some rare instances, there have been reports of two Oscars being impossible to keep together as one (or both) being in real risk of getting killed.

Hope they keep this going peaceful
