How often can I feed the Beef Heart Recipe ? My fish LOVE it, but boy is it sloppy. It seems only half the spinach gets eaten sometimes and then floats around. The tank is only newly cycled and I don't want to overload things. I would like to feed it as often as I can because the fish seem to enjoy it. I'm feeding it now once every 2-3 days in the amount about the size of the tip of your thumb which they completely eat in no more than two minutes. My two tigers are about 4" each and practically growing in front of my eyes in their own 110 gal tank. I have kept an eye on water chemistry and all seems fine, no NH, nitrates present but low and nitrites barely measurable.

I wouldn't feed beef heart too often. Use it as a treat, let's say a couple of times a week. Your Oscars may well like it, if you feed it too often, you may find that they will turn their noses up at everything else you trying to give them. Beef heart isn't the sort of food that you should be giving to your fish on a regular basis. Give them natural foods like shrimp, worms, frozen fish. However, a good quality pellets should be the staple diet.
