Hey guys,

I bought a box of live crickets to feed my oscar and he seems to be loving them. But i'm having trouble getting them out of the box in a 'controlled fashion'

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to get them out and handle them??

Cheers.

i have seen some people use long "tweesers". you can buy them from most shops that sell you the bugs:). it makes it easyer to get them into the tank you just gotta catch one first lol.

I put the entire box into the freezer then feed as I want and I don't have to worry about keeping them alive or them getting loose!

Hehe thanks for the suggestions guys.

Ive sort of got a system going where i can safely shake a few out of the box into a similarlly sized container with a bit of water in it so they don't jump out. Then safely move em over to the tank and drop them in one by one.

During summer we catch a lot of grasshoppers and crickets with a net and keep them in a plastic coke bottle with a few holes in it.
This makes it quite easy to tip a few in as required or wait until they crawl out themselves.
