i am soon getting my first oscar!!!!!!!!!!
and i was wondering what type i should get?
i want one with good color and every thing
so what is a good first time oscar?

It is really a matter of preference.Your fish store may well have different types of Oscar say you will be able to choose one that you like. Some people like Tiger Oscars, others like red, many people like albino Oscars. It's rather like asking, what is the best type of dog, or car.

are white tiger oscars common may i be able to find them at a local pet store?

remember that albino creatures have a genetic disorder. There is evidence to prove that albino creatures can have neurological problems. They can also be rejected by other fish and get bullied as well. Personally, I don't like them at all. I prefer tigers or reds.

i myself couldnt decide on which type of oscar i like the best so i got one of each of the more popular onees

With this inquiry, I realized how come we do not have picture indexes for oscars. I myself had previously raised oscars which I called tiger, but seeing different oscars in this forum, I found out I was wrong. The tiger oscar I had before is basically a red oscar.

when i got my red oscar, he was the only one in the shop so i had no choice lol:)

i have an albino tiger and i love him he has bright orange markings and is a joy but also he was all my local marine warehouse had in at the time o well hes working out great

The best type of Oscar is the one you own.

I would personally say the Red because ... well that's the one I own. The red O's are also the first to be geneticly altered that way from the common green.

Another reason I like the red is because with mine I can clearly see his mood through his changeing of the Red. When he's pi$$ed he's more copper when he's sulking he's orange.
Just my choice.

with all these professional oscar lovers giving you the wrong advice i thought I should put you right. the best oscars is one that can clean its own tank. you are looking for a oscar with good knowledge of water changes,and water conditions. This is by far the best oscar and when you find it get me one:laugh:No really look for something you like the look of, dont rush into it and be propared to go home without one if you dont like the look,or if they look sick,find one thats lively and moves toward you and not hides, if you are un sure go home and go back another day. what you buy will be with you many yrs hopefuly:unsure:
