i found a cool rock outside
it has big crystles sticking out of it
i think it will look realy cool in my fish tank when i get it set up
is it ok if i put it in there?
if so what should i do to get it all clean?

Just remember that some rocks can have an effect on your pH. You would have to take a photo of the rock you are intending to put in your tank so we can try and work out what it is. Let's say that your pH was already 6.0, you wouldn't want to put anything in the tank that takes it a lot lower.

i went out side and found more
now that i look at them i think they are glass

i think this is a glass ball








i think i dont no if this is glass but i think it is sand stone or sement or both

I really don't know what type of rock that is. However, my advice would be to put it in a bucket of water, the same water that you use for your tank water. Do a pH test before you put the rock in, and then do another pH test a week later. This should give you a good indication of whether the rock is going to altar the water chemistry.

well i dont have water in my tank yet i am just setting it up i dont get my oscar for a few more weeks

the rock looks pretty cool, i have been trying to find some slate or a very smooth rock for the oscar but cant find them anywere yet and im not willing to pay for a rock in a shop lol:)

i have heard its best to cook them in the oven for about 15 minites on a high tempriture...
what does not kill me makes me stronger

I'm not sure if painting rocks is a good idea unless you know exactly what is in the paint.

Be careful when baking rock, rock retains heat for a very long time so could well act as a heater in your tank for a while

i wouldnt paint, not sure about all the rocks in pic but last pic in your list looks like limestone,dont use this one, others not so sure. I think all glass will be ok but as ofl says its easy to test ph so you may as well do so. limestone will harm the fish.
