I came in from outside and i walked into my room and looked at my fish tank. My oscar was laying at the bottom, not literally layinf down but her stomache was rested on the gravel. I observed her some more before trieng to move her and i noticed she wasnt breathing. So i stuck the net in the tank and im mover her aound a bit, and then she started swimming around. So i sign on here and im about to post this, and i look at my other oscar, and he automatically does the same thing! What do i do? Whats wrong? I need help asap.

Without the water parameters it's impossible to say.
But two O's in a 50 gallon tank is much too small, even for one.
My guess ... and it's only a guess, is that your ammonia and nitrites are way too high.
Do a 50% water change immediatly, then do 25-30% w/c daily.

If possible and you have it on hand use Prime or Ammonia-lock.
While doing the water change use some aquarium salt, not table salt, sea salt will do fine too. Just dissolve it first. This will help with gill movement and entice the natural production of the slime coat. You don't want to use too much ... maybe a tablespoon to start.

you have to consider what time is it when you came in. My oscars sleep or do not move at all when I arrive from office..... 7:00 PM.... They just move around when I open the lighting on top of the tank.

Has your oscar done this before

Your fish is either suffering problems due to poor water (test results will tell you if this is the case) or he was probably resting

Well, i have gold fish in her tank (for her too eat). But the reason why she was acting the way she was, is beacuse she was waiting on the fish to swim in front of her, and she would eat them. I seen her do that this morning. It was quite interesting. She is very smart. Um, when oscars sleep, do they close their eyes?

Its not unusual for an oscar to sit on the floor of the tank, however if it is more than just occasionally then something is usually wrong. The most common cause is if your oscar is being bullied
