I know Oscars do some strange things
but I was wondering if anyone elses Oscar
spins in circles like a dog chasing his tail
My 3 year old oscar does this on occasion
He just got finished with a real intense session
before I posted this
I don't think anything is wrong
I was just curious if anyone elses oscars did this
He really gets a whirlpool going in the water!
My other 2 oscars have never done this.

yeah, my two oski usually spin too but in tandem
as if they were dancing. I also observed they do that
in the same spot where the slate for spawning
is located.

by the way, how big is your 3 yr old oski?

Oscars often do strange things. If fish start behaving strangely, darting and swimming around the tank very quickly, check your water conditions, toxins can often make them do this.

Yeah my Oscars don't do that hardly that I've seen so far... Tantrum the bigger one when it's bored it lays on it's side or Tyke the smaller one will nudge Tantrum and to get it going and help moving around and keep it from being so bored and all... I putted in a blue cray fish that I think was a good idea to keep them entertained and curious about other things in the tank and instead of them selves going for food or just laying around...

I think it's a good sign that you think nothing is wrong, but just in case I second OFL's recommendation to check your water parameters. I might also stick a volt meter in the tank to see if any of your electrics are sending stray voltage into that tank. It's easy enough to ground out if that's the case.
