I recently addes a new tetra advanced filtration system to my tank with an oscar who has been in the tank for 3 days. He was acting fine...eating etc. After the addition of the filter, started action strange. Saying in one corner of the tank, tilting to one side, acting lathargic, curling his tail, What could be his problem? How can I help him?

how long has your tank tank been set for? there could be a few reasons why your oscar might be acting oddly. could you give a little more information like water readings?

this might help in figuring out what could be wrong with your oscar

Thank you for the help, My tank was set up 1 week ago Thursday, I received it from a friend....It came with a a Bumblebee cichlid who is fine with the new pump and is lovin life. As far as reading... I have not done any becaust the tank has only been up less than 2 weeks. The day I put the oscar in, I also added a pleco who is also fine.

i would recommend purchasing a testing kit and testing your water. if the tank is new it probabbly isnt, or has lost its cycle. this could cause an ammonia spike which is harmful to your oscars.
a water test is really the only way to tell what might be going on in your tank.

Necromancer4 is right, you have to test your water. basically, your tank is not fully cycled yet or have lost it cycle when you got it from your friend. eventually, your tank will become cloudy because good bacteria is not yet establish in your system. oscar produces a lot of waste.
