TOPIC: oscar with no light

my oscar has been with out a light for about 4 months, im scaird that when i put him in his new tank which has a light... will he be scaird or freaked??? and should i gradually introduce the light???

dont think it will do much maybe scare him at first but it will be fine

yeah, it will not affect them that much. however, oscar
do sleep during the light off. so i suggest that there
should also be time of darkness for them.

if you look at this photo, this is the rainforest when it's flooded. many fish including Oscars will inhabit the rainforest during the wet season. You can see that it's quite a dark place, it's not going to be brightly it like an aquarium.. I only put my lights on for a few hours in the evening, and even then, my tank is very dimly lit. I think that fish that are not used to living in bright places could well get stressed if it's too bright for them.

yah, i agree on that. however, i was told also
that oscar can thrived in a place like this with
full of sun light the whole day.

i turn my light on at about 6pm then switch it off at 8.30pm everynight. dont like it on all the time the alge in my tank goes crazy man! haha
