Flake food is probably okay for very small babies, however, adults Oscars would probably prefer something a little more solid, something to get their teeth into.

I don't see what's wrong with feeding marine food, a lot of the food I feed my fish comes from the sea anyway.

yeah, anything goes with oscar, but as they grow
huge, they enjoy more on bigger solid foods. the only
setback with flakes, it will entail additional bio-load
if not totally consumed.
