I've just set up my 55 gal. and it's all cycled just waiting to get my Oscar. I noticed the list on this website on all the food they can have and shrimp was on there. What kind of shrimp can they eat??...Can it be Ghost Shrimp?...or basically any kind of shrimp?...Thanks for your help in advance!

there are so many kinds of processed feeds available.
i have my frozen dried shrimp, fresh frozen shrimps, and
sometime live river shrimp. i do not encourage live because
there are time they carries bad bacteria that may compromise
the health of your fish. but those floating pellets are safe
and formulated for its purpose.

for healthy oscar, you should start with a variety of
foods. while still in the juvenile stage, treat it with
high protein food to expedite the growth. but should have
regular food to avoid problem later on. i started my oscar
with morning feeding only, good for two minutes grabbing, then
removed whatever left unconsumed to lessen bio-loads. it grows
1 inch every months in 6 months, then slow down when doing some
natural oscar activities like bulldozing substrate, liplocking,
and moving anything around the tank.
