He is brownish and kind of golden. But he is starting to get more "orange" on the golden part.. Read somewhere that they are called red oscar?? Is that right?

I would say that your Oscar is the Lutino type, and very handsome he is too.

i looks like red oscar to me...
yes, oscar do change thier color as they grow up.
the markings usually manifest as they reach 6 inches
and above or as they mature. good diet enhance their
natural markings and colors.

Oop's my bad, I was looking at the fish through hungover eye's yesterday morning, and it looked to me too light to be a Red, but after looking again, I can see it is a Red. Sorry Annette.

Thanks everyone!
The red hook link was great. I actually found out that my "red hooks" are just regular Silver Dollars! And I think it's fine. It would have been very crowded wit 5 Red hooks an 1 Oscar when they grew up!

as i said in my earlier post i beleive its a red/BRONZE oscar i have seen quite a few of these and they look like a mix between copper colour and gold imagine a mix of the colours copper and gold, and not transparent ....solid colour almost METALLIC in apearence i have known these coulour fish as BRONZE OSCARS its a variant of the true red oscar ..a friend of mine has tiger oscars with this colour instead of the tiger orange..he calls his fish BRONZE TIGER there is also true reds that dont display such vibrant red as others these also can look a bit gold ?? so whatever he is its DEFINATELY a (variant) of the RED oscar but he /she is great!!!!!!!!!!!! and you can call him whatever you want copper/bronze/red/gold jack/jill/peter/paul.....anything you like as it looks a great fish with a UNIQUE APPEARENCE AND A CURLY TAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
