Hey all,
I just recently purchased an Oscar Fish 3 days ago, and put him in a fully cycled 55gallon UK tank.
He just recently starting getting more active and ate all the neon tetras that were in there.
bless his little heart.

Anyway, the gravel i am using is too big and coarse and is a pain in the ass to clean and its white, and i dont like the look of it.
I want to move to sand..
How long should i wait for him to be comofortable in his house before i change it on him?
Or should i do it now before he gets too used to it?

i would let him rest for a while to reduce his stress levels. maybe in a week if hes doing fine then you can displace him while you redo the tank. im sure it will reduce the overall stress level if he has a little time to relax between shocks.

btw welcome to the site

Welcome to OFL.

I would change to a different kind of gravel as opposed to sand. Sand is REALLY hard to clean, plus it can get sucked up in your filters.

in my case, i used mixture of gravel and sand.
sand make the gravel a little bit compact but still
look awesome.
