hey every one!!

I have 3 oscar fish.. the biggest oscar fish ( funny enough called oscar )
and 2 which are a bit smaller ( called olly & ozmo ) olly & ozmo hide all day as oscar is very agressive as he is bigger!! now when they they do come out of hiding ie.. eating and just peeking to see were oscar is.. the are almost swimming on there side its quite funny to see but looks weird! just wondering why they do this & will they ever stop being little scared fish!

Years ago when I first started keeping fish, I had some Tiger barbs that would swim around at a weird angle. I asked exactly the same question as you and somebody said it was something to do with the light entering the tank. Now whether that's true or not, I know not. Unfortunately, I can't really give you any other reason why they would be swimming around at a strange angle. If any one of them was doing it it could be a cause for concern, however, if they are all doing it and seem healthy and that eating okay, I shouldn't worry.

i will just add on what OFL had said.... you have 3 oscar?
normally not a good number.... once pairing had been established,
the outcast will be bullied and driven away. so better watch out.
once you observe any of them always together, there is a big chance
that you have pair... re-home the outcast.

he is a very bully fish and has started picking on olly one of the little one so i seprated them.. albino is fine.. also noticed he has started to display white markings as seen in pic below..

now these markings come and go he can be fully black and orange then all of a sudden he has these white markings come up really cool to watch but dont know whats going on!!

But, I have 2 O's. One (Oscar) is the boss. The other (Scarlet) is often hiding behind a big root.. When Scarlet is coming out of her hidingplace she swims in all kinds of strange ways.. Just like a puppy trying to get friends with a grown up dog.. Oscar fish are strange.. Mine often do PRETTY weird things.. I've stoped being worried.. As long as the water levels are fine, the O's (most of the time) are fine!

your tank works out to be about 100 imperail gallons and is definetly too small for three oscars. if you plan on keeping all three o's you should look into something in the 150+ gallon range. also keeping 3 oscars is not usually recommended. if you get a pair the third one will be in for a rough time from them. if you get three males then it becomes a dominace or territorial thing. at 100 gallons you are near the minimum size for 2 oscars and no tankmates. so i beleive you should have a good look at what you want in the lines of fish stock.

as for the colour of your tiger oscar many things can effect the intensity and colour of an oscar. stress, water conditions, even lighting can play a role with this. as long as your water is in good shape and you oscars are eating and healthy i wouldnt worry about it to much.
