hey i will be tranfering my o's sometime in the next few days or so,
just woundering the best way without stressing them to much.
there getting quite large now there about 8".
is it ok to just net them and put them strait into the new tank?
i was hinking the difference in water temp even though the 2 tanks are almost the same might have an affect.
anyways just woundering thanks.

whenever transferring the fishes, i always do it with
remove all decors and gadget inside the tank to lessen
obstruction. then lower the water level to lessen the swimming
space. use the net carefully. if you have not net to use, a clean
towel or t-shirt will do

YOU ARE NOT CYCLED YET .....it will take 40 days for the new tank to fully cycle if you ad your O,s before this point you run a very high risk of severe health problems with the oscars!!!!!!!!!!! but when you come to move drain the new tank down to about 4" of water with the fish still in.....remove all decor and rocks leaving only gravel and fish....then get a net and dont mess about with them just go at them catch them in the net and dont draw them out of the water slowly just get them out and straight into the new tank as quick as you can ...be positive and confident and be in command

Check this video of my mate James transferring one of my Oscars. Transferring the Oscars is not difficult.

MINISNELL.... make sure you have no lights on in the new tank which their going into, its not anything major but it'll settle the fish alot quicker.
and like the others said, do it as quick as possible, dont worry, you wont harm the oscars.

oscars are resistant, just use a big net and up you go!!!!!!!!

It's best to start a new thread if you have a question of your own.

anyway, to answer your question, transferring any material from a cycled tank will help. However, whereas there will be bacteria in existing tank water, it won't be the kind of bacteria that you find in your biological filter.

well... that is good.... preparing ahead of time.
that is better than having a problem before trying
to know what has to be done......
