We decided to get some meal worms for our Oscar... He ate them right up. Just loved them. A little while later, we noticed that he had spit out the skin? of the worms. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you leave them mealworms for a couple of weeks, they gradually change into little black beetles which Oscars love

ok, hopefully it is next month as well because oscars grow very big and very quick and the last thing you'll want is to stunt his growth.
but good luck with the oscars and the new tank and remember to cycle your new 1 out properly.

SMIKEB... all oscars are different mate, and size will play a part as well,
a 4 inch oscar will have more trouble eating a mealworm whole than a 12inch oscar.
also, some oscars might not like eating the skin of a mealworm
mine both eat the mealworm and then spit the skin out.

juvenile oscars eats everything you put in the tank.
they are always hungry but became tamer as they grew
up. upon reaching the size of 7 to 10 inches, once they
had grabbed a bunch of food, they just swim around unlike
the juvenile that act like a pig who is always hungry even
if their mouth is full. give them varied foods so that they
will not become choosy later on.
