No I haven't, I'm always suspicious when you get Oscars were these type of colours. I could be wrong and they could have been bred like that, but I had never seen one myself

this fish you talk about is what is known in the game as a BLUEBERRY OSCAR they have had DYE INJECTED BETWEEN THE DERMIS/skin or dipped in indelible dye that invades the pores of the fish skin .......there is also a STRAWBERY OSCAR that unfortunately suffers the same treatment!!!!!!!!!   the practice is performed ILLEGALY purely for OUR PLEASURE and you say its not dyed or painted but they are!!!!!!!and there is different shades of dye and different periods of exposure to the dye producing fish with tints of colour or full on colour depending on what they require also the levels of intensity of colour are very reduced now as the authorities are right on top of this barbaric cruel practice, and if any of you see these fish for sale you should inform the lfs thats got them and report it to your national animal welfare police/organisation.........this is a very serious problem that is being combatted by the animal welfare authorities on most continents and you SHOULD NOT BOTHER WITH THESE FISH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES...and the people who do it should have DYE INJECTED INTO THEM:angry:         ....hope this helps

I would add a lot of dealers dye the fish but dont tell anyone of the process. people buy them not knowing, its not fair on these people to be dyed))))) but I think its fair to say anyone buying a fish that they know to be dyed should be a shade of colour them self. some fish can display odd colours without dye as more and more breeding gose on. PLEASE ask before buying if a oscar looks a odd colour.

Probably dyed... but might just be a very colorful oscar.

They dip these guys in pools of dye... them take em out. Result: colored fish. Very inhumane, so please don't buyone

mixed or mosaic set up of unusual colors means dyed.
but for a homogeneous color like the red oscar, chances
are they are not. i have seen an oscar similar to my pets
having bluish shade of color. it looks like tilapia but had
that moon marking on the tail. i am very sure it is not dyed
because i am maintain the tank for the owner.

one thing i am very much sure.... dyed fishes had a compromised
health status.... it will just take a few weeks before any damage
manifest on their health. if the fish keepers is not good in handling
water parameters, he/she will go back to the pet shop to buy another
one. bad for the fishkeeper, good for the petshop (of course with
good premium price).

that depends on how the fish was dyed. fish can be injected by needle which gives them spots and patterns, or by being dipped into a dye which gives them that overall color. either way, the dye eventually fades away. both ways, it harms the fishes health and leads to health problems and a shortened life span.
