I don't lie but my baby, has around 10 inches, he call me when he has hungry. I know is incredible but is very true. He jump and hit the lid, if I don't come with food he continue jump until I bring a food. And in the night if I turn off the light of my living room, where is the tank, he begin moving the tail and did it a big wave inside the tank, you see drops of water come outside of the tank and I need stop in front of the tank and bring food. Every night I bring food and after that I turn off the light. The questions is this is normal in the oscars. I grow up with tank fish in my home, my mom love and I love too. All the time I have oscar in my tanks and never any baby do it that. I had one with over 12 inches and never do it that. My baby is special.

yes, it may.... my oscar do the splashing every morning whenever somebody open our front door. i used to feed them first thing in the morning.

and there is one thing i discovered recently.... instead of scooping the substrate and move it somewhere else, there is a new trick...... the female stationary put herself in one place, wiggles the body strong enough to move everything under her body. all substrates move towards the direction of the tail...... alas... in few seconds, the bottom glass is exposed already.
