My bigger oscar, a little over 3 inches swallowed a rock. I watched him and thought he would spit it out, as usual. i saw it in his throat...then in went out of sight. He did this eating bloodworms off the bottom. What is his fate?
Also i mentioned i have the other fish(a pair) should i remove the small rocks to protect him. Are small rocks a bad idea? Thansk in advance.

I wouldn't overly worry. If it was a problem I don't think it would have eaten it. Oscars are fairly intelligent fish. what size rock was it, I would also add Oscars usually eat small fish and pass them OK.

I agree with Marcus, I doubt he would have eaten it.Oscars have got throat teeth which they used to chew your food. Obviously they wouldn't be able to chew a rock up. They also know what is food and what isn't. So I can't imagine they would even try and eat a rock

that is one trick of an oscar, grabbing a pebbles with the foods
and you thought it would not spit it out.....
as mentioned by OFL and marcus, oscars are fairly intelligent fishes.
there are so many ways on how to expel the pebbles in their mouth,
either direct frontal spit out or eject it on the gill sides (left
and right). even if they did swallow the rock, you don't need to worry,
they have ways and means to expel it naturally.
