Alright, I know it isn't really advisable to feed your Oscars live feeder fish from a pet store, because you run a risk of your O getting a parasite or something. But I had to try it once to watch it. And I was so excited about it! It was the best 28cents I ever spent in my life. I have never gotten to see my Oscars in action so much. I mean with the worms or bugs I gave them they just sorta swam over to them more quickly, but with this Feeder fish. They raced over, and had to chase it down some.
They started by taking little pecks at it, and finally getting it in it's jaw sideways. And finally head first down the throat. Octavian took his meal over to the corner he always hides in with a mouthful. And Voldemort followed, grabbed hold of the tail sticking out of it's mouth, and start fighting to get it out of his mouth, with success. And then they did it again, and finally Voldemort ended up with it, and swallowed it.
It was honestly one of the most exciting experiences with my Oscars yet though. I think I am going to start breeding my own feeder fish so I can give them this treat every now and then, because it is so exciting, and they seemed to love it so much.
I think that every Oscar owner should give this a try at least once.

some people enjoys watching their pet grabbing
anything that moves. however, i prefer to give
my oscar crickets, live worm, bettles; and any
that i could get from my garden. i can not imagine
how will my feeders grow if my oscar can consume 30
pcs or more in 1 day. nothing will be left to grow,
aside from the facts that feeders has minimal nutrient
for oscars.

As biggamehunter said, i dont agree with feeder fish at all,
for starters their is no gain in feeding your oscar feeder fish, they have no where near as much nutrients as pellets and will only end up causing aggression.
for treats its best to stick to things like worms/beetles/crickets/shrimp etc etc.

i don't think lucass cares much about the nutrition. he seems to care more about "the action". personally i don't really see the point in feeding with feederfish.

its all good to watch your oscar having fun chasing a feeder fish around the tank, but in the long run, its really not worth it in my eyes.
yes its fun, but its like a human playing games with a crocodile, eventually he's going to get hurt.
its your choice lucass but i really think its a bad idea unless your only keeping 1 oscar, because then, it wont matter if you have an aggressive fish, just the case of being careful of disease's.

You guys are right, ha I was just all caught up in the moment. I was just really curious was all, and it got the best of me. I probably won't do it again. And I did know prior to the feeding, that they are not very nutritional at all, I just wanted to see how my fish would react to it, and I wanted to try it because I have heard things about it from my sister who used to have some oscars. ha.
