Hi guys,
I was just wondering if Oscars have a problem with to much turbulance in the tank, I have a cannister filter that isn't making any bubbles since the outflow pipe is under water, but I also have a in tank filter that blows quite a big stream of bubbles under the water, is this bubble stream likely to bother the oscars, or do you think they'l be fine with it?
thanks for any advice.

it will depends in the rate of turbulence. aeration is meant to
enhance oxygenation. in the river, the flow of water hitting the
rocks or any thing creats aeration. as long as they can swin and
float inside the tank without hitting any tank walls or decor,
i believe they will be okey. they know how to find a place inside
the tank with less water current.

the filter itself is not going to cause too much disturbance to the water flow, you need that disturbance on the water to create oxygen so I would advise you to rearrange the spray bar. I suppose if you were to submerge a very powerful pump under the water then that would cause a lot of disturbance.

i have 2 powerheads in my 132 gallon tank and it works just fine.
in your case it depends how big tank you have and how big your oscars are.
for example: if you have a 55 gallon tank and use a eheim 2252, it's probably to much flow.
