Well, I woke up this morning and my little oscar was gone.. I couldn't figure it out but I finally found him behind my tank. I'm not even sure how he fit through the small little hole in the hood where my filter intake comes in. I guess he was just small enough. So now I'm oscar less I'll probably run to the lfs later this afternoon and check out the oscars and pick up a new one. I've got all the possible escape routes covered this time!

it happens more than people think, i have read about so many people losing their oscars due to them jumping.
its a sad thing, but you have to make sure your tank is totally oscar escape proof.

I just got home from the store, got my new tiger oscar. As soon as I can get him to hold still long enough for a picture I'll try and get one of him. My father keeps calling him Bruce so I guess that's his name now.

the only thing I noticed is he has a little hole in one of his bottom fins. I couldn't see it when I was at the store.

i had work with the fish pond for 14 years during my younger years,
and i do understand that most fishes usually swim against the water
current. that may be the reason why some oscars got the idea of scape
route.
