hey guys as most of you know me i have 2 oscars one 7 months one 5!
now i have noticed somthing quite strange with the older oscar ( oscar ) he seams to have become obsessed with the air hose that blows the bubbles. now i have one under the gravel its about 30 cm long and for some strange reason he keeps digging it up ( now first i thought it was just it way of rearranging his tank ) and when he dose this and it's exposed he swims along it and sits him self on it, rubs up against it like its a massage toy. he dose it for hours and houes on end. its quite fun to watch its like the fish with the bubbles ( kinda like the fish on nemo ) lol now i have tryed to get a video of it but as soon as he sees me he stops!! is it normal?? is there any one esle out there that there oscar dose it or is mine just one very weird fish
P.s this is no joke!!

no joke.... it is normal. there are times they can break water heater..... just keep your water in good condition (ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20 and below) you will enjoy more of those tricks. they can re-arrange everything in your tank:woohoo:

just wait until it notices the hose that runs it cos it just might start pulling that up too.)))) and thats no joke. I hate seeing the blue stone or the hose but the fish seem to know this and make it a job of " i will dig it and you cover it"

When you say rubbing against it, is he rubbing himself against anything else?
or any strange movements? like sudden jutters?

i know what glenn is trying to point out.... if your oscar is rubbing the body against the hose, you might have parasite or itchy problem. i missed that point too.
