Is it ok for fish to eat salt? When I do a water change both the Oscars and Green Terror get a bite or two of it. My sick GT that took a bite the other day ate salt not food, he took one more bite tonight when I did a partial and added salt. He's had a parasite, could he know something I don't and the salt could help? Maybe I should desolve the salt in water before adding it to the tank.

salt won't harm your fishes. but usually, salt is being dissolve
in a bucket of water before pouring it into tank. make sure you do
not have scaleless fish in it... scale less fish had low tolerance
with salt.

Thank you Paul, all of mine have scales so they're safe. I've been reading and learning from other posts, I hope others learn from mine too

I just worry that people will get tired of my constant questions. I don't want to be a pest but being here keeps me calm when I'm worried about them.

I know it's great for relaxing, my husband works 12-16 hours a day (not every day but lots) and when he gets home all he wants to do is put his feet up and watch the fish. The tetras used to be enough to keep him happy but since the Oscars it's been taken up a few notches
It's 1:00 am here, I'm gonna drag him to bed........see ya'll tomorrow !!

I totally agree Happygrl, I have read about half of the posts here and not once have I seen anyone being rude or sarcastic like I've seen on other sites. I'm putting down roots here to learn and maybe oneday even help somebody else.
