These are the wood grubs we get from the bush behind our place. They make the perfect treat for Oscars. This is the biggest one so far, and feeding it to my Oshie will be a funny affair. He has been feeding on smaller ones, but has not yet encountered one this size!!! and yes I will have to de-nipper it before giving it to him. They can give quite a nice bite!!!

Sod the Oscars, eat them yourself! I have heard witchaty (I know that isn't spelt correctly) grubs have got as much protein as a pork chop. They are supposed to taste really nice fried up.

Yeah, well, if you would rather have a cold squirmy one of these instead of a nice cut of beef go ahead, I'll post it out!!! Hahaha. I couldn't bring myself to eat it. It's too damn cute! If I didn't own an Oscar, I would consider keeping it!! I'm even going to have to get dad to take it's head off for me, I hate killing things. But it's good because dad really wants to watch him glump it down!!! I have been told that these cooked up, taste like the marrow out of a chop bone? Anyway, eugh!!!

Go on, I dare you to eat it. Anyway, It would be good to see a picture of that thing sticking out of your Oscars mouth. I would imagine that would be more than enough for a days food for your Oscar.

Eeeeugh. Nooo way. Actually, if I was dared for money, probably!!! I once ate a big tadpole because dad dared me $5. So I did it!!! Haha. No one learns with me, if there's money behind it, I'll very likely do it!!! He tried it with dog food, the really mushy smelly jelly shite, and I was just about to take a mouthful, but he chickened out. He didn't want to lose his money!!! So, you send me the money, then I will send you the video!!! Hahaha.

Dad just informed me that they're called Wattle Grubs. But you can eat them too! But I think I'll have to chicken out on this one!!! I think I'd probably chuck for a week everytime I thought of it!!!! Eugh....

Have you ever seen the barefoot bush man, and bush tucker man? I love programmes like that. Bush tucker man used to make me laugh. He would always compare what he eats into something else, whether it be a pork chop, or a banana. You could start your own programme, bush tucker pooky. Tuck into some of those grubs

Mind you, there is a guy over here call Bear Grills who has started doing these survival programmes. He was somewhere in Africa in one of the programmes I watched recently. Anyway, to get liquid, he actually squeezed the water out of some fresh elephant dung, absolutely disgusting. I think I'd rather die

Oh trust me, I would love to have my own show where I'm out in the wild/bush. Steve Irwin...love to do that!!! He was a great man, a little silly I agree, but still.
My ungrateful little Oshie didn't even eat the grub. I had to chop it for him!!! Little bugger. I'm always the one at home to pick things up like huntsman spiders, if they need removing, instead of people killing them. Blue tongues, echidnas, I haven't come accross a big snake yet, but I don't think I'd be that stupid without training!!! Any stray or hurt animal in need of attention, I'll be the first there! But eating really big grubs...blurp:sick: nuh uh. I just saw tonight a program on Australian Aboriginals, and they were after bush tucker...big urky squirmy gooey witchety grubs!!! They pulled them from the tree in no time at all with a stick, held it by the head and bit the body off!!! Then they collected heaps more and bbqed them on some coals. Eugh, at least they were teaching a tradition to their kids.

Yes, Steve Erwin RIP. I always thought that if you he was going to die prematurely, it would be from an animal. Personally, I always thought it would be a snake that would get him. However, that was a real freak accident.

So, do you believe the Tasmanian Tiger is still alive and well? Lots of people claim to have seen them and have even photographed what looks like one. When you think about it, people in North America can walk through the wilderness and never see a mountain lion, yet they know there are lots of them there. Worth thinking about

I agree. I would have never guessed that Steve would go like that. I thought definantly snake. And yes, I do believe there may be a possibility here that there is a small group of Tazzie Tigers. Some places I have been it's hard enough to walk into, you can't see the sky, the shrub is so dense there's no way possible to walk on safely. My dad really wants to find one. He's totally hooked!! As for the mountain lion, well, they're smart! They know humans aren't for eating, if you do, you get shot. They probably sit on a ridge watching the people walk through, daring each other to try one! Hehe. I don't know, but I do reckon there's a chance the Tigers are still here. I mean, when you go on a long walk, like to some of the falls here, absolutely beautiful, 3-5 hours in and 3-5 back out on foot. In all the time you're walking I rarely see any animals at all. Besides a roo or two. But animals know that we're trouble.

UFOs, Sasquatch, ghosts, you name it, I love it all. Some people who say they have seen these creatures whether it be a Tasmanian Tiger, Sasquatch etc are often people who know what they are looking at and would gain nothing from telling porkies. We have the same sort of thing here, many people have seen big cats such as pumas roaming wild, a lot of these people are actually involved in looking after wildcats themselves so they should know what they are looking at. However, you have your sceptics who just dismiss the idea of big cats roaming wild. I know who I would believe. I think it's a fascinating subject.
