Hi,
My 2 oscars are inseperable, they follow each other everywhere like shadows & they particularly like swiming into the bubble curtain from my airstone.
Does the fact that they are so close to each other mean they are possibly a pair, or will same sex pairs hang out together & get real attached to each other?.

until your oscars reach puberty they might stay together all the time and be like you said inseperable. as juvenile they seems to like the company of their own kind but at maturity things will begin to change.
female might stay friendly with each other like paul stated but 2 males will become increasingly hostile and fights will break out as time goes by.

fyi sexual maturity occurs in oscars at around one year old and breeding between 1-1.5 years
