Is this just regular scratches from driftwood or one of the other fish attacking a little or is it something else more serious that I need to address.

looks like regular scratches to me mate... good water conditions will have that healed up in afew days

If its mopani wood, that stuff can be razor sharp and I wouldn't put it with clumsy oscars, malaysian wood is a bit more forgiving. What driftwood I have in my tank I've taken sandpaper to and smoothed out any sharp edges or points. You can sand mopani wood too but the stuff is like stone.

Even in an 'oscar proof' tank though, an oscar will still manage to bang himself up lol.

Mopani Malaysian oak pine who knows. I did knock off and sharp edges I found but could of missed some. This guy's shows so much more than the lutino did obviously just not used to it
