BenZ created the topic: Introducing a baby Oscar

Hey guys is there anyway to introduce a baby Oscar to a new tank like safely? I currently have him in a 40 gallon tank and want to put him in my 6 foot tank but I'm scared that my 5 inch Oscar will chew on it, should I just leave him in the 40 gallon tank for a month or so or longer?

If the baby Oscar is very small, small enough to fit in the larger Oscars mouth then you will be running a risk that the larger one will try and eat it. So maybe you should leave it in the smaller tank until it gets a little bit bigger. I would hate to advise you that everything is okay to go ahead and put in the larger tank only for it to be eaten.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

your best in a small tank first. I smaller oscar will usually end up being bullied and not get enough food ect

Haku, I knew your were good.
