Beautiful Oscar Paul, it's amazing how well you keep his fins looking, normally they get shredded if you have lots of other fish in the same tank

I wonder if swimming is more labor intensive for these breed? Similar to a Betta, more drag and resistance from extra surface area. Or, is swimming easier from more propulsion area? Interesting. These Oscars are not often seen in my area.

I doubt whether many people breed these, hence not seeing them available. I've not seen them ever in any of the fish shops in my area. It must be hell one of these fish to swim. It must be like trying to swim wearing an extra large jumper with 2 feet of spare material on the arms flapping around in the water.

thanks Penn and Dave... actually, that one is very active and could hold his ground...
and can compete for foods with the rest of the group... long fin oscar became a craze
at some point here in my place... i've got 3 pcs but only one grew that way...
with bent tail base ..

That is one beautiful looking fish. I was never really a fan of the veil tail, however i must say that im a convert after seeing yours.
