i decided to try to give a better quality food for my fish so a quick trip to the lfs and i came home with new life specrtum extra large fish formula.


it seems to be full of good stuff for cichlids so im going to give it a try and see what its like.

if anyone else uses this any imput will be appreciated.

I don't use it, but let me know if they like it. Im really having a hard time with finding good pellets for them.

Let us know how they like it. I cant get my o to eat pellets, but have only tried cichlid gold.

my o,s went off their hikari last week so i have been giving them king brittish cichlid sticks .....they love them ..but they cloud the water an awefull lot!!!!!! so i too am interested in your new findings necro

i have heard mixed reviews about nls.... let us know how it turns out...

They better get here quick my fish need better pellets, i cant feed them shrimp all the time!

My red O was fed cyclid sticks as a baby, but he quit eating them.
I heard great thing about the Hikari Gold pellets, but when I tossed them in the water my oscar was looking at me, as if he was saying:"and you expect me to eat that, that's no food!"
But he spoiled, i guess.
Wants a different food every few weeks. He's not into dead fish either.
This week he ate those fancy grasshoppers a friend brought from the LFS.
One thing he never refuses and grabs with full force, BIG BUGS:woohoo:
I heard about this Massivore pallets and that Oscars may like those!

well it been a week now on the nls diet and its seems to be a big hit with all my fish.

so now my foods supply for my fish consists of the nls pellet as their staple, and for treats they get hikari massivore delight(another hit with the fishies) , crickets, earthworms, shrimp, beefhearts and krill.

it has still been to soon to notice any increase in growth but i feel better knowing that their diet is better than it was before. and as for colouration since i do feed a varied mix i have not notice any difference.

if things change i will update

i feed my big guy super worms, crickets, and gold pellets.
my baby gets blood worms, crickets, his small pellets.
for treats i have frozen food. its a mixture of krill, blood worms, shrimp, etc. they love it. little guy grows way too fast.
