Ok... so I been going on line reading about having a tank set up with sand instead of gravel. I been doing research for 2 months now and I finally decided it was time. Yesterday I bought some play sand and got to it. I didn't even remove the fish for the change. After I removed all the gravel I did a quick water change to remove all the nasty stuff that was hiding under the gravel and was never really picked up by the vac. someone in here (I think) had talked about putting the sand on a plastic bag, to not disturb the fish. So I went ahead and did that, and it worked!!.
The fish love the sand! Afterward I check my water to make sure every thing was fine, and the water was excellent.
And not only that; I had save a couple of ghost shrimps that had some eggs on them and one of them was ready to let the babies go, so I also got to see how the baby shrimps are born!!!
It was an exiting day yesterday and I'm glad I change from gravel to sand.
