hello everyone... i was wondering if other Oscar owners were able to pat their fish... mine let me touch their heads, also are their fins spiky i dont want to get spiked.

if you touch their mouth the bite... lol scary

Mine will if they think I have food. Did you know they were called river dogs because of the way they beg for food and wag not just their tails but entire bodies? I have 2 rescued O's that still won't eat and barely move but they're learning from my to over active demons. I can touch my Severums when they're not breeding and sometimes if he's in the mood my male Terror. I love it

i can see how they got the name river dog... my real dogs dont even go so spaz over food.

Does anyone else have trouble finding a net big enough to catch a full grown O, i cant get ones big enough and i have to squeeze them in ones what are to small, then they splash everywhere and nearly empty their tank from the thrashing.

do you know if their fins are spiky?

I don't think they are but don't know for sure, you test it and let me know ok?
I have several big nets that hold mine but they're not full grown...how big is yours? How many do you have?

i have two adults ( waiting to successfully hatch babies ) they are over a foot long, In a seven foot tank divided into two, one half being heaps smller than the other, with a younger, smaller O inhabiting it, They also share with a giant angelfish and a smallish red tailed shark
