Hi guys,

I know this question has been asked before but i cant seem to find it. last night I was changing the globes in the room where I have my oscar tank, I used the engery saver white globes. Initially I did not notice anything but when i went to feed my oscars I noticed them hiding under the filter, they seemed to get freaked out every time I got close to the tank.

I didn't know what to make of it so i made a assumption that it could have been the new light from outside the tank that caused it so I changed the globes back to the old ones but still the same result, they seem very scared. the only time they seem normal is if I give them something to eat, otherwise they are bolting to the corner of the tank if someone gets close.

I tested the water, just incase & all seems fine. what should i do??

there are so many factors affecting the fishes. tapping
the glass for one, is the most common cause. if you have
children around, that may be the case. however, try to starve
them for a day or two, and give them food after. they will be used
to that and will approached the glass wiggling the tails whenever
they see you.

all my oscars are like that now.

Changing the light can cause stress.
Evry night before going to bed i turn of all lights in the room.
Nightlight in the tank stays on but my oscar don't scare, he gets angry at what i think is his "Mirror-image"!
Since i leave the nightlights on my fish spook less easily when the light in the room is turned on again....
