How long, on average, do Oscars live?

my first oscar lasted for 7 years but that was not in accordance with
the correct fish keeping. i had him at 35 gal tank for that long and
reach 12 inches only. based on the oscar review, they could live 15 to
20 years in captivity.....(aquarium). i am not sure about in the wild.

i have heard 30 yrs... well at least i dont have to worry bout havin my fish till im 50 now, only 40 or so....lol
other pets are my colt (Freddo Frog), my staffy (Tank) and my boxer x,(Steph)

would you believe that gold fish could live more than 30 years
in captivity. i have seen one a year ago and it weighs 5 kgs at
32 years old. the owner had built a big concrete tank for it.

i think i heard at many places 15 years
