There are loads of things you could feed them on. Krill, bloodworm, shrimp, see what your local fish store have in their freezer cabinet. You can also find food in your own garden, crickets, worms, any little insect really, it'll be very similar to what they find in their natural environment. The only thing you got to be careful of is if you use any kind of insecticides in your garden. you certainly don't want to be giving insects to your fish have they been feasting on any kind of poison and haven't yet died.

O's love insects.... i give mine every-thing but spiders. even fruit and veg if you run out of fish food and cant make it to the shop lol, i used to catch crickets and skinks in my backyard every-day for my O's, but now its colder.

they only thing you should not feed your Oscar is gold/feeder fish as they contain too many fatty acids and can be riddled with disease etc.
unless you buy guppies or swordtails and breed them yourself, live fish are not a good a idea for your O.

so every-thing from a cricket to a pea, O's will eat almost anything
other pets are my colt (Freddo Frog), my staffy (Tank) and my boxer x,(Steph)

If you go for frozen bloodworms dip your finger in them and hold it just above the waterlevel.
Your oscars will jump to catch the worms and after thet just take a bit of worms between your fingers and keep it IN te water.
You'll have your O's eating out of your hand in no time!
Watch out though, they may get enthousiastic and jump out of the tank, and we wouldn't want that.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
