i changed the back ground picture in my fishtank and now oscar just sits at the front of the tank all day and hasnt been eating

He will adjust. Oscars are often touchy about change. Give it a few days and I will bet he will be ok.

yeah, oscars can be quite stressed if their territoty changes...

when you did change the background, have you
shut off the system? yes, they do react to some
changes but we have to make sure that there is
not water parameter changes in the process. shutting
off the filter for a while could trigger ammonia/
nitrite spike that could affect your fishes.
