Hi,
I bought a new O' 2 days ago and hes still not eating, that doesnt worry me as he's 10-11" and could go a fair while without food.
My question is, since the shop were feeding him pellets [that theyd leave floating] and the occasional goldfish, how should I try to get him to start coming to the surface to get his food at feeding time like my other O's? or do you think if I just hold off feeding him for a couple of days he'll eventually come round?
thanks.

He is probably just getting used to things. O's don't care for change and pout when they are moved. I would keep feeding like normal and wait him out. He will come around.

And please post pics!!!

you could try not feeding him for a few days, maybe if he had a moving target (crickets etc) he would feed better?
i feed my O's a pellet mix that has sinking and floating pellets
other pets are my colt (Freddo Frog), my staffy (Tank) and my boxer x,(Steph)

Here's his pic, you already saw it though, I guess I posted the original in the wrong spot
I noticed a little fishing pole poking out this morning, does that make him a male?
I just checked and he's put it away again [probably embarased, it was pretty small :woohoo: ]

Hey Nicki,
I reckon if he is a guy, the girls will have to pack a magnifying glass if i'm ever gonna breed him, all gone now, so i'll check again tomorrow, probably just a morning boner, if I was him i'd keep it hidden too

if he is established with the tank, you can starve him for a day or two.
i am sure he will grabbed anything that drops in the tank on the 3rd day.
and if that happen, he will always wiggle his tails whenever he sees you

LMAO!!!! You crack me up! All sex organs on O's are small. All you can do is try and pair some up. You may end up with two boys, and then you will have to ship me one, LOL. And two girls will spawn but no fertilization. And by them breeding is the only way you will know if you have a male and a female.... Good luck:silly:
