Hai All,

In general many say that oscars will accept anything you feed. Previously I had set of 4 oscars which were about 2 inches, which took only the dried worms and nothing else. Then due to some issues, I gave back the oscars to the aquarium from where I bot them. Now I have 2 tiny tiger oscars (should be max 3months). Rite from the day 1 they came to me, they are not taking any pellets. When I fed dried worms they had well. Then shrimp they prefer most. Recently I gave live worms and one ocar was taking the worms non stop even after the belly was full. So I decided to reduce the quantity in future when I give live worms. Now today morning, when I fed them dried worms, they did not eat that properly and just smashed the cubes I gave. What is the reason? How can I make my oscars to eat any good food I give? They are choosy...I suffered with similar problem with my Trimac and now I have a big size pellets which my Trimac take neatly. So no issues now with it. Now I want my lovely baby oscars to eat all good foods. What can I do?

Also, when I bot the 2 baby oscars, both were of the same size, but 1 has grown really well but the other is very skinny, look very thin and the body coloration is not that good, it looks like a silver shade on its body. Still the skinny oscar also taking a good quantity if I feed shrimp.

What could be the problem???

Please guide me...

Thanks,
Shankar

oscars are good eater. they eat like as if there is not tomorrow.
juvenile usually eats like a pig. even when full, they would still
grabbed some more. the golden rule is to feed them food enough for
three minutes grabbing, then remove left over to lessen bio loads.

yes, they could become choosy...you need to starve them so that
they will take anything you decided to give them. show them
who is the boss.
