This is why you should always have a lid on your Oscar tank. Whereas an Oscar won't actually jumped to get out of the tank, they do jump and can easily fall out of the tank. It's been done many times before and I suppose it will happen again to someone else. Hopefully they will find this website and read this message before it happens:lol:

What a coincidence.
One of my oscars jumped out of my tank yesterday.

It has a lid but wasn't heavy enough to stop him.
I put him back in and he seems fine but was a bit scary!

I had an Oscar once that jumped out and landed on top of my tv which was around 4 feet away and this was an adult 10 inch Oscar. I put him back in the tank and he was fine. my Oscar set up had no lids but i found that having overhanging plants and tree branches which came out of the water stopped the Oscars form jumping. i think it gave them a better perspective of where the surface of the water was.

my tank is right on the outside of my bed room door. almost every night i hear "thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud". dang, you'd think they'd get brain damage or something!
