I made my own top for my tank an it looks good an works i cut some thick wood that can stand water an i taped all the edges all around the board so is that ok or no good on that idea?

does any one know how to put pictures in a form i wanna take a picture of it an show u?

I would think that as long as that wood has not been treated with any chemicals it should be fine

so wen the water evaporates up in to the wood will the wood get soft or mushy or bring a smell? an can my oscar bite it or push the top off?

The wood will rot unless it was treated for water, If it was treated any evaporation you have will drip chemicals into your tank, I don't think I would use this.. What is wrong with the tops before? I use glass, you could go have a couple of pieces the same size as the wood you made cut to fit at a local glass shop. they will be cheap enough.

And then you can use a couple bigger rocks to hold them down so your Oscar cant open the lid...

you could put a screen over it and like Nicki said put a few small rocks on it to give it weight.
