hi all
on another topic, i have a lump of coral in the corner of my tank.
originally it was very white and beautiful, over time it has become a dirty brown color, i have washed it every tank change, but it does not return to it's former glory.
any suggestions on how to clean it?
i assume bleach is out of the question lmao

The same thing happend to my crushed coral on bottom of tank, eventually I had to get rid of the top layer.

Robert, I have heard that you can use bleach, but you have to rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry... I do this with my fake plants and an occasional rock. Although nothing as porous as corral.

hmmm i'm really not sure if i like the idea of bleaching.

i just don't trust that it will all be removed

and i don't want to take any chances with him.

it was a beautiful specimen .... and so white, for all of about a week lol
and he seems to like hiding behind it at times

Personally I don't think I would do it on that corral either, But I do it all the time on my plants. I soak in bleach water, rinse, run through the dishwasher, rinse, and then allow to dry! LOL

I am OCD when it comes to cleaning... What I felt was filth yesterday in my house would have been nothing to most people... LOL

my god .... i am much the same
a place for everything and everything in its place.

my friends would have a laugh at me when i would go out of the room, they would move something on the coffee table a fraction ...
knowing full well when i come back, i would instinctively move it back into place.
my home is always spotless, the worst case scenario is maybe the coffee cup sitting on the bench waiting for a refill lol

are we long lost siblings? LOL... I am the same.. the problem is that my hubby could care less... He thinks if he leaves it, the cleaning fairy comes and cleans it up! LOL...

in some respects i am lucky i live alone...
its easy to keep a place tidy then

I have to remind myself sometimes that it's ok if the vacuum marks in the carpet get messed up.. It's hard with all the dogs and kids!!!
