First of all I want to say hello to everyone, I just decided to register today, but I have been visiting here for a while gathering information.

My Oscars used to love worms, fresh store bought or captured from the garden and cleaned. All of a sudden they won't touch them. They eat their other food fine, Tetra Cichlid, and Cichlid Staple. Has this happed to anyone else?

Hi and welcome..

I have never had this problem but I know they can be picky eaters. Give it time and then try it again.

I have had these for about a year now, I have really grown fond of them, I need a bigger tank, I have a pair in a 75 gal, looking to upgrade, I was just intrigued as to why they suddenly turned their nose up at these worms

Oscars can be fussy little critters so don't worry yourself because they are turning their noses up at the worms.Just leave them off the menu for a while.

I just tried again yesterday, they ate em right up. Maybe they just had already had a full belly when I tried the worms the last couple of times. Thanx for the replies.

I am glad he is eating again... But I do know that the higher the water temp the faster the fishes metabolism, so they eat more at higher temps. Because the temp is lower he won't need as much to eat.
