i was wondering if u could breed a oscar if it was not the same as the other one and i was also wondering how can u tell if it is male or female?

Yes, different types of Oscars will breed with each other, no problem.

Ahh, sexing Oscars. Notoriously difficult unless you know how to vent them. This would normally require you removing the fish from the tank and closely examining its underside. Normally, the only conclusive way to tell the sex an Oscar is when they actually breed. i.e. you will see the female laying the eggs, and the male swimming over the top fertilising them. At this time, you should pay very close attention to their underside. The female sexual organ is sort of rounded and on my red Oscar, a whitish colour. The males sexual organ looks like a little spike or thorn. If you go to the gallery, there are two photos of my fish, both showing their sexual organs, you'll have to look very carefully at the males though.
