Noticed this on my oscars, Kind of like skin flaking off and grey underneath, Any ideas?

Difficult to say for sure but it looked like superficial injuries to me. Maybe the Oscar has banged himself against something? They should start healing up within a day or two. If they start getting worse than please get back to us.

yeah, it seem an injury to me..... my survivor
hit hard the coral and got the scrape on the nape.
it heals in three days but craters remains as if
he had HITH.

hey shipletw, though your post is high-jacking this thread, i will answer you anyway. it depends on the natural color of your oscar, some oscar are really gray in color.

many factors can be considered:
1) stress
2) bad water condition
3) mode

just remember, vibrant colors indicate healthy fish.

he is the right colors at night. But i think it is because i have him in a 10 gallon and he is about 7 or 8 inches long. I bought a 55 gallon tank but i dont know what to put in it what do you think i should put in it.

pour all contents of the 10 gal at the 55 gal tank, fill
it halfway, and put your oscar there.... that is the ideal
size for you o.

ok cool and just for fun i have a larg mouth bass in there with him to should i get the bass out of there or do you think they would ok together
