Hi guys brilliant site! I used to have 4 oscars but lost one about a week ago to a tumor behind the eye. The worrying thing is that a second oscar started developing very simmilar symptoms as the first except for a small hole under the eye. My water quality test are all ok and I even tested for phosphates.

I have started treatment using sera baktopur direct in a hospital tank. The eye has started reacting to the treatment but still confused on the excact dissease?

I had to take him out of the water to get a decent image hope it helps

Difficult to say, there is the chance it may be early stages of hole in the head disease. I should keep your Oscar in the isolation tank, even after medicating it for the eye condition. Probably best to keep doing regular water changes until you see an improvement. If there is no improvement, or it starts getting worse, you may have to look at using other medications. It might also be worth giving a veterinarian a quick ring and telling him what the problem is.

Thanx for the speedy reply. He didnt look happy in the hospital tank this morning just lied on his side sulking. Wondering if it would be best to treat the entire tank with octozin?
