I have been trying to add new oscars to my tank for the past 6 months. At first I was adding them to the tank without cycling the water. This time I added starter fish for 4 months before adding two Oscars to my 55 gallon tank. I put them in yesterday around 6:00pm they seemed fine they were swimming and exploring the tank. This morning when I left for work at 7:45am they seemed fine. I came home around 6:00 pm and my daughter advised me they had been laying on the bottom of the tank on their sides since she came home around 2:30pm. They are laying together one on top of the other and when I put the net inside the tank they will get up and move out of the way only to go right back to laying on the bottom of the tank on their sides leaning against each other. The temperature in the tank stays between 78 and 82 degrees. Are my Oscars going to die? Please help!
