I've noticed there are online fish sellers and I wanted to ask everyone's opinion of them. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with any particular ones? Is it a bad idea altogether? It doesn't seem to me that it would be very healthy for the fish to be shipped. I don't even know how they accomplish it.

there are some reputable dealers that ship live fish from online stores. and there are some that are not so reputable.

if your live in the u.s. then you ahve a few choice to go with. i have heard nothign but great things about jeff rapps (tangled up in cichlids) and ken davis (fishfarm) both carry high quality stock and have a superb record for customer service.

anybody have any ideas for canada? I've noticed alot of dealers in the states but only a handful in canada... anybody weigh in there?

i also have had a very difficult time finding a good supplier of new world cichlids in canada. what i have found is to get in good with your lfs(private not chains) and jsut place your order with them. thats how i do it now and even though it might take some time to get what you want it does work. i even managed to get f1 motas delivered to me and if you really look around you will find that this fish is not easy to find.

I've not got my confidence in my LFS, they don't really seem motivated to help anyone, more seeming just to want their shifts to end.
